When affixed above a door or doorway a horseshoe is often regarded as a powerful protection and sign that the property is under the protection of a potential a potent magical nature.
 
They were also considered to be lucky because they were made by blacksmiths, which was considered a very lucky trade, as they worked with elemental fire and magical iron, they were thought to have special powers … it was believed that a blacksmith could heal the sick and, if a couple was married by a blacksmith, their marriage would be a happy one.

All the horseshoes we sale are old used shoes used in the Westcountry, UK. They are all different and we cannot guarantee sizes and finishes (they are all old and used so will most likely be rusty.)
